A Welcome Away Day at Style Library
We were kindly invited by Style Library to spend today with their fabrics and designs in their newly refurbished Head Office in Denham. Style Library is the home for 6 world famous design houses - Morris, Sanderson, Harlequin, Zoffany, Scion and Anthology. What a wonderful place to visit. There are already fantastic displays of many of their new fabric collections. The large open spaces show off dramatic feature wallpapers and superb pieces of furniture. It was an amazing opportunity to see the fabrics that we are selling in large lengths, as finished curtains or on original idea boards.
We were given a short tour of the incredible Sanderson and Morris archive, seeing original wallpapers from 1850 onwards. Designs that have been used and re-used in colour combinations to suit different design eras. I loved the 1978 book which showed wallpapers and fabrics in tangerine orange, definitely my cup of tea! Oh to have spent a whole day there!
Up in the Design Studio, Rebecca Craig, the Design Manager for Sanderson and Morris, showed us some of the inspiration, original drawings and idea boards for the "The Potting Room" by Sanderson Home, "Chiswick Park" by Sanderson and the Morris "Archive IV - The Collector Fabrics". It is incredible the work that goes into all of these and easy to understand the correlation between the intricacies of the different processes used and necessary cost. Style Library seems to cater for every requirement. We are excited to be able to offer our clients these beautiful products.
Sadly the Zoffany design team were away creating colour but we were still given a very interesting introduction to their latest collections. Please watch this space. Zoffany may be coming to K&H Interiors too!!
Style Library, thank you so much for your kind hospitality!
